This weekend was all about family. I love my family they are my anchor in the storm of life. I went to my sweet nieces baby shower which is exciting because her little boy will be 5 months younger than Soy Bean. So me and my sister Lisa will be first time Grandma's. Then it was my moms birthday. We went to a Mexican restaurant and celebrated with the whole Roybal clan. It is so fun to get together (probably not for the waitress)and celebrate. We can talk for ever. We are a loud bunch. We seem to talk over each other and trying to listen to each other can get a little chaotic. When you first come into the fold it is overwhelming. It is sink or swim. My poor brother amongst all his sisters. Sorry Larry! Have you ever watched "My big fat Greek wedding"? Well, totally us except not Greek. There are certain sisters I cannot sit by at a funeral because we will end up being irreverent. It is something I have tried over the years to overcome but no matter how much I have tried, be it meditation, thinking of something tragic, real tragic other than the funeral, hurting myself, concentrating on something serious, finding a not-so-happy place, anything, we just seem to find humor in anything. We have gotten in trouble a few times. I blame it all on my mother. She is quite witty. She has been the butt of a few of our laughter's. . . I probably could tell you a few because she never checks out my blog. She's this tiny little lady who has the sweetest little voice and she looks like an angel. Yet, she is a crack up. Some of the embarrassing moments I just happen to be with her and they are totally innocent and we find our selves in these awkward places trying to get out of these situations. Coming home completely humiliated. But on time my tiny little cute mom was at a proctologist (she's going to kill me) and while in the horribly awkward position, it was still and uncomfortable and the Doc was making small talk to brake the tension. So she said "Hey Doc what do you think of my rectum as a hole" Then she started giggling. She of course came home and told us all and had us all laughing and rolling on the floor. She continues to make us laugh.
We have a wedding coming up in California, it is my cousins and some of us will be going and I promise, cross my heart I will be good and be as well behaved as I can. I will not sit by any of my sisters, I will be well mannered and a Lady. We will take pictures to post. It is a big fat Mexican Wedding. This shall be interesting. I promise I will not get drunk! (I am Totally joking)

LOL! Rectum as a hole...
What a blessing to have a family that laughs and that you can laugh with. I think that's awesome! You all sound like a blast to be with! I already know you're TOO much fun, so I can only imagine what it is like with the whole family.
lol you guys are pretty hillarious.... thats why i love my family... we all have something to laugh at!! :) miss ya!!
Your family sounds like mine. I'm the same way with getting silly when you're supposed to be serious. But it's my little brother
I can't sit by. So next time we get together at a serious function, sit by me. I love laughing when you're not supposed to, bad me!
p.s. Love the story about your mom!
WELL BEHAVED?????? Come on, you're old enough now to know that is NO fun!!! It's not like they can send you to your room or ground you!!! Of course, some days that wouldn't be too bad!! YOU'RE GROUNDED--GO TO YOUR ROOM AND DON'T COME OUT UNTIL DINNER IS READY!!!! Hee! Hee! Hee!
